The Path

What road is this?
How did I get here?

This isn’t the path I had planned.
My path had money, power, and fame.
That path lead to nothing, but to sin and to shame.

But what road is this?
And how did I get here?

It seems I’ve betrayed my own self.
Is there a cause that’s greater than wealth?
A life that’s not all about me…

But what road is this?
And how did I get here?

God has a plan more than my hopes and dreams.
A plan  so much different than mine it does seem.

This path has trials, trouble, and pain.
But this path has taught me to dance in the rain.

A life lived for self leads a young man astray.
A much bigger purpose God has in your way.

But what road is this?
And how did I get here?

It’s a life that is spent loving others each day.  
I chose the path, then God paved the way.
